Over 50 Amateur Chartbois Set To Compete To Be This Cycle's Will Clemente at Bitcoin On-Chain & TA Scouting Combine
With The Halving just around the corner, it is officially On-Chain & Technical Analysis season. On Tuesday, Coindesk released its complete list of attendees for the 2024 scouting combine, which is scheduled to run from March 16 to March 29 in Nashville.
Of the 58 invitees, 21 of the expected chartbois to attend are on-chain specialists. This is down from 45 on-chain specialists who competed in the 202o combine which was held remotely via Clubhouse due to the Covid-19 pandemic. Casual fans are probably familiar with some of the big names who impressed in previous combines—Will Clemente, Dylan LeClair and the infamous Willy Woo. The combine will also feature young and up-and-coming macro analysts and technical analysis prodigies.
Notable scouts at this year's combine include Anthony Pompliano, Willy Woo, Rational Root, Checkmate, Raoul Pal, Peter Brandt, and last cycle's consensus combine winner, Will Clemente. Trader Gareth Soloway was expected to be among this year's scouts however his short position on Bitcoin went sideways on him during the recent price rise and he told the Bugle he will be focusing on his family and his finances this year.
Every 4 years before Bitcoin's halving, the combine is held in an attempt to find a young amateur chartboi who can go viral with his chart analysis and drive clicks and sales for Bitcoin companies looking to outsource marketing to price prediction gurus. Independent chartboi and anonymous European affiliate marketer PlanB arguably stole the world's attention with his catchy Stock2Flow rainbow chart last cycle. However, Anthony Pompliano and Raoul Pal were able to boost rookie and combine star Will Clemente enough to make a quick buck before FTX blew up and ended the cycle.
Whoever comes out of this combine and becomes the next viral chartboi is likely to have a clear path to success without the shadow of PlanB and previous on-chain analysts like Willy Woo trending consistently on X.
