AT&T Thanks Hackers For Assisting In Promoting "Unparalleled Transparency"

Phone carrier AT&T announced on July 12th that a series of hackers had accessed customer records of all their customers various times over the last few years. A spokesmen for the company applauded the hackers for assisting in the companies mission or transparency with user data, but insisted that their actions were still illegal, and those records should have been bought instead of illegally accessed.

"Here at AT&T, we believe that no human on earth has a right to privacy, and that is why we actively work with the NSA and other intelligence agencies to monitor all your communications. You have nothing to hide, right? So why would this hack even remotely bother you? If you're okay with an NSA agent reading your text messages, you should be okay with your neighbor, boss, stalker, parent, spouse, kids, or anyone else in our extremely free society reading those messages."
-Bill Clever, AT&T Spokesman

This hack is reminder that individuals "private data" is not private, and that they do not actually own it. A small fringe minority of individuals believe that there should be some sort of recourse for customers who operated under the assumption that their text messages were only being read by AT&T employees and NSA agents, but there were likely be no recourse for these small minded individuals.

The future is transparent, so live with nothing to hide.
