Ten31 Announces Investment In Waymo Competitor That Forces Riders To Listen To Podcasts
On Friday, September 27th, Matt Odell announced on the live weekly podcast, Rabbit Hole Recap, that Ten31 would be investing in a Waymo/Uber competitor that forces riders to listen to Bitcoin podcasts. Odell stated that, "We want to make it easier for everyone to get their 40 hours a week in of listening to Bitcoin podcasts. Not only that, we want to support the value for value economy by having portions of the ride fees to be streamed to the podcasts be listened to on Fountain."
What has resulted from this is that a stampede of Bitcoin podcasters attempting to get their podcasts to be considered by the startup. It is not clear if the company will force people to listen to PODCONF approved podcasts. Already, Michael Saylor has been rumored to be attempting to form a council to oversee Bitcoin podcasts as a way to influence what type of podcasts the ride share company will be playing in their autonomous vehicles.
The company is reported to be building an entirely different customer experience, allowing for custodial lightning transactions in app, as well as the sign up requiring Nostr Nsec. Many are skeptical of the service, suggesting that it will be the exclusive ride share program for "Autistic Men" as women don't generally listen to Bitcoin podcasts, and likely would be annoyed by not being able to choose that option. Many women would likely be open if they were played podcasts by individuals like Natalie Brunell.
Bitcoin is gaining mainstream adoption with popular fellatio influencer, Hailey Welch, transitioning her popular podcast, Talk Tuah into a full fledged Bitcoin podcast, likely to be considered as one of the featured approved podcasts by Michael Saylor's council, but also a featured podcast via the ride share service.
